Item No:8G <br />Meeting Date: November 13, 2006 <br />Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />Administrator Review____ <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Chief of Police, Mike Sommer <br />Item Title/Subject: Authorization to sell surplus Police radio <br />equipment. <br />Date of Report: 11-13-06 <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Police Department has completed its transition to all new 800MHz police <br />communication equipment. The old radio equipment is no longer used by the Police <br />Department. It is considered surplus equipment which is currently stored. The Police <br />Department has received quotes from two companies who purchase old police radio <br />equipment for parts or re-sale to police agencies. It should be noted that this equipment <br />cannot be sold to the general public as it is programmed for police frequencies. <br /> <br />CommTech Enterprises LLC has offered to pay $3041.00 for the surplus equipment, and <br />Action Radio and Communications, Inc. has offered $1550 .00 for the equipment. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends sale of the equipment to Comm Tech Enterprises for the amount of <br />$3041.00. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />Mike Sommer <br />Chief of Police <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
