Mounds View City Council November 13, 2006
Regular Meeting Page 18

1
City Administrator Ulrich indicated that the recommendation is to have the re-elected Senator 2
and newly elected Representative come to a meeting, either before the work session on December 3
4, 2006, or before the regular session on December 11, 2006 for an update. 4
5
Council agreed to either date to have the Senator and Representative elect come to a meeting. 6
7
Mayor Marty indicated that the City has been talking about the noise wall along Highway 10 for 8
years and suggested having Staff look into adding another lane to Highway 10 because once they 9
open 610 all the way through it will get worse. He then asked Staff to look into Mn/DOT’s 10
timetable for adding another lane because they would be mandated to put in the sound wall when 11
they add that other lane. 12
13
Mayor Marty indicated that he would like to flag administrative offenses for them too because 14
Staff contacted Ramsey County and other cities and he would like to get the elected 15
representatives to sponsor some of these issues. 16
17
Council Member Thomas indicated that she is concerned that they will continue expanding 18
westward and not add another lane. 19
20
Finance Director Beer pointed out that Mounds View is the only one with a zero percent levy 21
increase for 2007. 22
23
Council Member Stigney pointed out that expenditures have increased by 4% despite the fact that 24
there is a zero percent levy meaning the City has to take money out of the Medtronic levy 25
reduction fund. 26
27
Finance Director Beer indicated that this does not include any potential referendum that may or 28
may not have passed for the School District. 29
30
Council Member Stigney asked for information on the potential recount for the School District. 31
32
Council and Staff discussed it but were not sure of the specifics as to whether there would be a 33
recount. 34
35
C.
