/ I <br /> MEMO TO: MAYOR & COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> FROM: MARY SAARION, DIRECTOR <br /> PARKS, RECREATION & FORESTRY <br /> DATE: JANUARY 10, 1991 <br /> SUBJECT: RECOMMENDATION FOR THE BIDDING PROCESS FOR THE LIGHTING <br /> OF CITY HALL WEST BALLFIELD. <br /> It is recommended that the City provide a generic bid for the <br /> lighting of City Hall West ballfield with the base bid being that <br /> of Musco Lighting System, Sports Cluster 2 . The City would <br /> however accept other alternate bids. Each bidder must provide a <br /> computerized illumination plan indicating the light spillage and <br /> glare measurements. The City Council would then have the <br /> opportunity to award the bids according to the City's best <br /> interest. This recommended bidding process would provide an <br /> opportunity for considering other lighting systems yet provide <br /> the City with a lighting system which provides the light control <br /> and glare control factors which are of concern. <br /> The time element will be close but the added factor that a few <br /> weeks of baliplaying on the East field before the field is <br /> unuseable (because of the water system construction) will provide <br /> approximately four weeks of scheduled league activity, enough <br /> time hopefully to install a lighting system. <br />
