► s . <br /> 110 <br /> Mounds View City Council December 3, 1990 <br /> Special Meeting Page Two <br /> A resident asked about chip seal from two years ago. <br /> Acting Clerk-Administrator responded that the City <br /> is still monitoring. <br /> Mayor Hankner commented about sources of revenue.. <br /> Councilmember Wuori commented that all of the new <br /> fuel tax cost goes to Federal government. <br /> A resident, Lloyd Bardwell, asked about the Police <br /> Department and theft from residents . He was concerned <br /> about' response time -- glad for another officer, but <br /> feels that some problem exists since officer said his <br /> paperwork slowed response. <br /> Mayor Hankner talked about the demands on the Police <br /> Department and need of an additional officer. <br /> A resident asked about police officer on D.A.R.E. . Is <br /> this only in Mounds View schools proper? Mayor Hankner <br /> explained each city has their own D.A.R.E. program. • <br /> Finance Director Brager expounded on this . <br /> A resident asked about eliminating Police Department and <br /> contracting with Ramsey County. Mayor Hankner and Mayor- <br /> elect Linke responded that previously this was looked <br /> at and it was not cost effective. Mayor Hankner also <br /> discussed snowplowing and how we save money doing snow- <br /> plowing in-house. <br /> A resident asked about "black stuff" instead of sand. <br /> Public Works Foreman Mike Ulrich responded that it is <br /> edges, and durability; and it costs less to boot. <br /> A resident commended that the City did a good job on the <br /> Budget. <br /> Mayor Hankner closed the public hearing at <br /> 7 :46 p.m. <br /> Motion/Second: Quick/Wuori to adopt 2 .
