J-1411_}-11
• MEMORANDUM
Memo To :Mayor and Council Members
From :Ric Minetor, Acting Clerk-Administrator
Date :November 1, 1990
Subject :Lions Club Sign
The Council previously discussed the possibility of the Lions
Club erecting a sign on City Hall property. This sign was to be
along highway 10, adjacent to the west softball field. I reviewed
the proposed location with a representative of the Lions Club and
also reviewed the sign code regarding this sign. In my opinion,
the code does not require a permit for this sign; only Council
approval of the sign and location. City Attorney, Mark Karney,
reviewed my opinion and concurred. We also felt the Council had
informally approved of the sign and location and that there was
no need for further formal action. In discussing this issue with
a council member, it became apparent that at least some of the
Council feel there_ needs to be additional discussion and approval
of this request.
