TIME SPENT PROFILE <br /> Mary Saarion, Director • <br /> Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br /> This position generally consists of 13 basic activities which are briefly described <br /> below. An estimation of time spent is addressed for each activity. <br /> 1. Park improvement planning and park maintenance requests - 280 hours <br /> This activity includes park improvement proposals, long term park planning <br /> project, immediate and future improvements, specifications, bidding processes, <br /> implementation and evaluations of projects. Park maintenance is a daily <br /> activity requiring communication and cooperation from Public Works for the <br /> needs of park users and programming needs by means of meetings, park visits, <br /> site inspections, etc. <br /> 2. *Programming - 320 hours <br /> Program planning for all ages, all seasons of the year with special emphasis on <br /> after-school programs, school days out programs, rinks, playgrounds, puppet <br /> wagon, aquatics, adapted activities. A portion of this time spent is during <br /> evening and weekend hours. <br /> 3. *Council Business - 200 hours • <br /> Preparation of council members, quarterly reports, attending council and agenda <br /> meetings, compiling information as requested by council. A portion of this time <br /> spent is during evening hours. <br /> 4. General Administration - 246 hours <br /> The activities in this category include assistance with registrations, answering <br /> telephone calls, logging permits and reservations, preparing class lists, manuals, <br /> computer work, filing and other general office_ariminisr ariogapi1ly <br /> approximately 1 hour each working day. <br /> 5. Inter-departmental Activities - 124 hours <br /> Weekly department head meetings, special task meetings, committees and <br /> problem solving make up the bulk of this activity. Preparation of information <br /> for these gatherings is included in the time spent. <br /> 6. Grants-writing - 160 hours <br /> The process of grants-writing includes inquiry, meeting attendance, data • <br /> collection, grants writing, coordination of agencies and grants follow through. <br /> *Denotes activities which require working other than normal office hours. <br />
