Consideration <br /> discussed, however, they neglected to discuss the of Resolution <br /> issue of lights on the softball field. Silver View <br /> Park <br /> Dave Radermacher, 7421 Parkview Drive, stated he Improvement <br /> had been on the Task Force and they discussed lights Plan <br /> and determined they were not economical nor needed <br /> very often. The park is supposed to close at 10 PM <br /> and not much playing time would be gained by adding <br /> lights. He added there are other, higher priorities <br /> for the park. <br /> Councilmember Wuori noted there is security lighting <br /> on the picnic shelter, and there would be a double <br /> message if security lighting was placed on the trails, <br /> since the park is supposed to close at 10. <br /> Councilmember Paone recommended listening to the <br /> homeowners requests . <br /> Councilmember Blanchard stated this is a living <br /> ocument which will be changing year to year and she <br /> not sure it is necessary to put a statement in <br /> oncerning lights on the softball field. She noted <br /> lights are not wanted now but that may change in <br /> the future . <br /> Mayor Hankner stated that although it is a living <br /> document, it cannot be changed at will, that a <br /> public hearing process must be followed. She <br /> added she would support putting a statement in. <br /> Councilmember Quick stated he felt strongly that <br /> no lights should be planned for the softball fields, <br /> and that security lighting would be needed. He <br /> added the Council worked out a security lighting <br /> plan for all parks in the system and it has already <br /> proven to reduce vandalism where they are in use . <br /> Motion/Second : Wuori/Quick to approve Resolution <br /> No. 3090, approving the Silver View Park improve- <br /> ment plan as amended, contingent upon the <br /> addition of wording that states no lights on the <br /> softball fields . <br /> 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> •ry Jones, 7405 Parkview Drive, ,questioned whether - <br /> reference to a district park had -been removed. - <br /> Mayor Hankner stated it had. <br />
