Advantages: <br /> 1. Pooling offers flexibility in assigning work tasks because a <br /> cross department assures that each employee can perform the <br /> necessary maintenance functions to run the city. <br /> 2 . Employees develop skills in multi-divisions with Public Works. <br /> Disadvantages: <br /> 1. Lack of consistency in parks maintenance due to a routine task <br /> being performed by different employees over time. <br /> 2. In a pool system parks could be considered a lower priority <br /> resulting in a delay in routine maintenance tasks until other <br /> pooled projects are complete. <br /> #3 . MAINTAIN THE PUBLIC WORKS FORCE AS CURRENTLY STRUCTURED <br /> Advantages: <br /> 1. The cost of the Public Works Department would remain basically <br /> the same. <br /> Disadvantages: • <br /> 1.
