AUG ' SQ 7: 45 FROM ARCHITECTURAL ILL I ANC
FlGr . u i 0
•
•
F. RECOMMENDATION
•
Following is an outline of Pros and Cons for Option B and Option C(Option A„a staand-alone
Police Facility having been discarded). This outline was use-,c1 in determining the Architect's
recommendation.
The outline is as follows:
OPTION B
Pros
A large,central Waiting/Reception Area Is created.
A Council Chamber(new)increased in size.
Cons
The Waiting/Receptiorn Area may be too large.
Even with the addition of Staff toilets and a Reception Center, there would be ample
space to seat 20 people.
• The area would not function well(acoustically or functionally)as a meeting space.
Staff would be required to rearrange furniture if meetings are scheduled. Storage
would be required for furniture not in use.
The Community Room would remain in the Basement and would be unenhanced except
cosmetically(new finishes and lights).
There would be no 24-hour entrance to the Police Department
One Police Department Inspector's Office would not have the possibility for an outside
window.
The Council Chamber is accessed by the public only from the outside(staff acct would be
provided internally through a shared Conference Room in the Parks,Recreation, and
Forestry/Public Works area.)
Construction sequencing would be less flyable and the constriction scope would be more
disruptive.
•
F1
