• MEMORANDUM
Memo To :Mayor and Council Members
From :Ric Minetor, Acting Clerk-Administrator
Date :August 1, 1990
Subject :Resignation of Michelle Hren, City Planner
Attached is Michelle Hren's Letter of Resignation. She has
resigned due to relocation to Texas, her fiance had previously
relocated to Texas and Michelle has decided to join him there.
I conducted an informal exit interview with Michelle to determine
the major consideration's for a replacement. We determined that
the current situation in Mounds View does not require the
complete range of abilities we had previously sought in a
planner. Michelle had been spending a significant amount of time
in administrative duties such as recycling, and did not foresee a
heavy workload of planning related activities. This suggests to
me that the City may want to revise this position to primarily
• that of a planning technician under the supervision of the City
Engineer. The more involved planning activities could be handled
through a planning consultant (such as the comp plan update) .
We had already placed an ad for a planner in the papers with the
description consistent with the current duties. If the Council
determines that a revision in this position is appropriate, then
applicants will be advised and new ads will then be placed in the
papers.
Additional comments regarding a position revision are included in
the discussion of alternatives for filling the Clerk-
Administrators position.
•
