Residents <br /> ll <br /> View Lions Club, requesting a favor of the Council and Requests ana <br /> City, to allow the Lions to hang the sign they were Comments from <br /> given by the Lioness Club, in honor of their 25th year the Floor <br /> as a Lions group, on the sign board next to City Hall, <br /> along Highway 10. He added another sign is being pur- <br /> chased, which they would like to hang on the other side <br /> of the sign board, as well as listing the dates of <br /> their meetings inithe middle. <br /> Councilmember Wuori stated she feels it would be <br /> nice to let people traveling through Mounds View <br /> know of this. <br /> Councilmember Quick stated he is concerned, that if <br /> they allow this sign to be placed on the City board, <br /> that it would open the door for all other organiza- <br /> tions to put up signs. <br /> Clerk/Administrator Pauley stated there is not a lot <br /> of room on the sign board to handle signs, and they <br /> could choose to dictate the number that will be <br /> allowed, on a first come,, first serve basis, and <br /> limit it to civic groups 'with no religious or <br /> political orientation. He added that could be done <br /> as a policy statement. <br /> Motion/Second: Quick/Hankner to table any action on • <br /> this request, to have Staff research it. <br /> 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> Councilmember Quick stated he would like time to <br /> think about it,, and also give Staff time for <br /> research. <br /> Councilmember Paone stated these signs are placed all <br /> over the world, and they are well recognized. He <br /> added he agrees a study should be done. <br /> Alice Frits, 8072 Long Lake Road, asked how many <br /> other service organizations are in Mounds View. <br /> Councilmember Paone replied he is only aware of <br /> the Lions Club. <br /> Councilmember Wuori stated there have been other <br /> discussions about entrance signs to the City, and <br /> suggested that as an alternate location. <br /> Clerk/Administrator advised the issue is still being <br /> worked on, with MnDOT and the other property owner 111 <br /> on the other end of the City. <br />
