I ended that letter with <br /> a caveat that the use of that curb exit on Long Lake Road may be <br /> required by it's constant use for a same or similar purpose over <br /> a lengthy period of time. In essence, I advised you that the use <br /> could be grandfathered in under certain circumstances . <br /> I have now had a chance to talk with City staff regarding the <br /> history of this property. It appears it was used as a service <br /> station only and did have some service bays with primarily full <br /> service gas pumps. My understanding is that the building is being <br /> torn down, the tanks are being pulled out and the new facility will <br /> have a car wash and grocery store/quick stop store for the general <br /> public. Furthermore, the new facility will be primarily self- <br /> serve. <br /> being developed for a new and different uaa from that which <br /> previously existed. Therefore, I think the Planning Commission and <br /> Council would be reasonable in denying the use of Long Lake Road <br /> for ingress and egress because the former use is substantially <br /> different from the use which is contemplated. <br /> Yours truly, <br /> Mark A.
