Modris Feders of <br /> Buetow and Associates, Inc. , the architects for the Ramsey <br /> County Branch Library in Mounds View requesting a refund of <br /> the $1, 299 storm water management fee charged to the general <br /> contractor at the time the building permits were issued. <br /> Mr . Feders indicated to me that the contractor, in his bid, <br /> did not include the storm water management fee and, as a <br /> result, the library system is being requested to pay the <br /> additional amount over bid. <br /> According to Norm Vinnes, Executive Director of the Ramsey <br /> County Library system, the Mounds View Branch Library <br /> building is approximately $25, 000 over budget, although the <br /> Library Board did approve the bid and is drawing upon <br /> contingency for this additional amount. Norm indicated to <br /> me that the project will be very tight and if any cutbacks <br /> are necessary it will be in the purchasing of books or <br /> equipping the facility. <br /> • For your information, the Branch Library was charged the <br /> following building permit fees by the City of Mounds View. <br /> WAC $3, 016. 00 <br /> SWM 1, 299. 00 <br /> Sewer and Water Permits 21. 00 <br /> Unit Charge 100. 00 <br /> Building Permit Fee 2, 957. 00 <br /> Plan Check Fee 1, 922.40 <br /> TOTAL $9, 315.40 <br /> The Metropolitan Waste Control Commission charge for the <br /> project was $1, 725 and the State of Minnesota' s surcharge <br /> for the building was $403. 00. <br /> Your direction in this matter would be appreciated. <br /> DFP/MJS <br /> Attachment : <br /> • <br />
