Call to <br /> Mayor Hankner at 7:03 PM on Monday, April 23, 1990. Order <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was said. 2. Pledge of <br /> Allegiance <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Councilmembers Wuori, Quick, 3. Roll Call <br /> Blanchard, Paone and Mayor Hankner. <br /> ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney Karney, Clerk/Admini- <br /> strator Pauley and City Engineer/Public Works <br /> Director Minetor. <br /> AftMotion/Second: Quick/Paone to approve the April 9, 4. Approval of <br /> 1.1990 minutes as amended. Minutes: <br /> April 9, 1990 <br /> 5 ayes 0 nays <br /> Motion Carried <br /> Police Chief Ramacher introduced Investigator Jack 5. Special Order <br /> Chambers, a 15 year veteran of the force, who has of Business : <br /> recently spent three months with the Ramsey County First Quarter <br /> drug task force. Department <br /> Head Reports <br /> Investigator Chambers reviewed the time he spent <br /> with the special investigation unit and presented <br /> samples of confiscated drugs and reviewed the <br /> penalties associated with the use and/or selling <br /> of these drugs. He explained 46 cases have been <br /> processed in Mounds View in the past three years. <br /> Chief Ramacher added 70% of thefts and burglaries <br /> in Mounds View are related to drugs. He further <br /> explained the importance of educating people about <br /> drugs, especially starting in the grade schools. <br /> Park, Recreation and Forestry Director Saarion <br /> reviewed park developments and improvements that have <br /> been made over the past few years, and handed out <br /> facilities maps, showing what is available at each park. <br />
