Mounds View Planning Commission September 6, 1989
Regular Meeting Page Two
• Motion/Second: Alman/Jones to adopt Resolution No.
261-89, recommending approval to size storm sewer
pipe in Long Lake Road anticipating development of
this area.
5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried
Ms. Hren explained the revised layout for the 6. Consideration
Ramsey County library site is much better than the of Resolution
earlier one. The revised site plan still meets No. 262-89
all zoning requirements. The City Engineer has Regarding CUP
reviewed it and has no major changes to request. Request and
Development
Mod Feders, of Buetow and Associates* presented a Site Plan
scale model of the proposed library and reviewed Review by
the revised site plans. He reviewed the planned Ramsey County
building materials, the architecture of the building, Library Board,
floor plan, landscaping, lighting, signage and 2575 Highway
parking. 10, Planning
Case No.
Norman Viness, of the Ramsey County library system, 275-89
reviewed the proposed security plans for the
building.
• Ms. Hren advised that if the Planning Commission
takes action tonight, it will be placed on the
September 18 Council agenda and a public hearing
set for September 25. The Planning Commission will
be meeting in an agenda session on September 20,
and would have a further opportunity to review it
then.
It was the consensus of the Planning Commission
that they would like to see the plans after the
Council agenda session, but unless there have been
major changes, the developer does not need to come
back.
Mr. Viness explained funds have been set aside to
purchase initial books, and some collections may be
moved around, to fill the library. Contributions
from the community are welcome.
Chair Mountin questioned if the community could tie
in somehow, whether through the Festival in the Park
or other contributions.
It was agreed to forward this to the Council prior
to approval of the minutes.
•
