He also reviewed the <br /> history of the underground tanks, reporting they <br /> were installed in 1983, and the other tanks there <br /> have been tested and determined to be okay. <br /> Chair Mountin inquired whether the City can require <br /> the remaining tanks to be relined, as a safety <br /> precaution, and she asked Staff to check with the <br /> City Attorney to see if the City could impose <br /> preventive actions on the three remaining tanks . <br /> Mr. Strapella explained tightness testing is <br /> required at least once every five year for leak <br /> detection. The life of this type of tank is usually <br /> 030 years, and it is possible the tank that <br /> experienced the leak was a reconditioned tank. He <br /> assumes the other three tanks were installed new. <br />
