Director Sheldon at this time recited <br /> the section on "glare" in the Zoning Code which <br /> indicates that any lighting used to illuminate off- <br /> street parking shall be arranged to deflect light <br /> away from adjoining residential property and <br /> that the source of the lighting shall be hooded <br /> or controlled. She indicated that the Code <br /> gives a measurement of how much light is to be <br /> at the property line and that these <br /> measurements will tell you if direct rays are <br /> going off the site. She indicated that the <br /> measurements of the Saturn facility show that <br /> the light levels at the property line are within <br /> the limits in the Code, although you may still be <br /> able to see the point of light and our Code does <br /> not control this. <br /> Commissioner Stevenson pointed out that with <br /> • the expansion, it will not increase the existing <br /> amount of light. <br /> Elaine Johnson, 2287 County Road H2, <br /> expressed concern with why they were not <br /> notified of the work session meeting. Director <br /> Sheldon explained that the Planning <br /> Commission is not approving this item, and that <br /> they are only making a recommendation to the <br /> City Council. She further explained that the <br /> City is not required to give any notice at the <br /> Planning Commission level, only of the City <br /> Council public hearing, and that we have <br /> recently added notices at the Planning <br /> Commission level to make sure residents are <br /> informed earlier in the process.
