Request for Variance/Conditional Use Permit March 29,1994 <br /> 111/ <br /> Michael Hegland <br /> 7604 Spring Lake Road <br /> Mounds View, MN.55112 <br /> I am requesting this variance/conditional use permit to allow me to use my existing <br /> garage as a storage building after the construction of a new attached garage to my house.My <br /> plan is to construct a new 26x30 (780 square foot) attached garage as shown on the attached <br /> drawings. After completing the new garage I will remove my existing 90 square foot storage <br /> shed and relocate my existing 22x24 (528 square foot)garage as shown on the drawings, reduce <br /> it in size to 22x22 (484 square foot) to comply with the maximum allowable combined square <br /> footage for garage and accessory buildings of 1264 square feet. It is my intent to store my boat <br /> and collector car in the accessory building. <br /> This code appears to be written to allow for a 24x36 three car garage and an additional <br /> accessory building of 20x20. Due to the dimensions of my lot and the layout of my house on the <br /> lot, and the fact that this is a remodel of existing structures, it is impossible for me to build an <br /> attached garage to the maximum allowable square footage of 864 square feet (24x36) that <br /> would allow me to store three vehicles in the garage. I am therefore requesting this variance to <br /> allow me to swap 84 square feet from the garage limit of 864 square feet and apply it to the <br /> accessory building limit of 400 square feet so that I may acquire the space needed to store my <br /> • third vehicle, a collector car in that building. <br /> • <br />
