CAR SALES LOTS SURVEY <br /> • APPLE VALLEY <br /> Allows new and used car sales lots only in "GB" General Business Districts. Car sales <br /> lots would have to meet requirements/performance standards for all commercial <br /> businesses. These standards include: <br /> 1. Exterior finish of face brick or natural stone. <br /> 2. Any exterior storage requires Conditional Use Permit. <br /> 3. Landscaping must be installed at a value of 2 1/2% of the estimated cost <br /> of construction. <br /> 4. Parking for auto sales: 10 customer parking spaces, plus 1 additional <br /> customer space for each 800 square feet of floor areas over 1,000 sq. ft. <br /> plus 1 additional space for every 2 employees. <br /> BLOOMINGTON <br /> Motor vehicle sales are divided into Class I, II, III, IV, based on the State's definition. <br /> Certain zoning districts allow certain motor vehicle sales. <br /> BROOKLYN CENTER <br /> A license is required for the buying, selling, business of buying, displaying or offering <br /> for sale new or used motor vehicles. Conditions of the license: <br /> 1. No Class A motor vehicle dealer license will be issued to any person who <br /> does not possess and operate under a new car franchise or contract in and <br /> for the City of Brooklyn Center, except in the case of an enclosed garage, <br /> showroom or other car display or rental structure on the land, which <br /> structure is required to have a City Assessor's value equal to at least twice <br /> the value of land used by the licensee in the sale of new and used cars. <br /> 2, Every Class A licensee is required to provide, operate and maintain in the <br /> City of Brooklyn Center at least one equipped and manned repair shop or <br /> facility capable of repairing the motors, engines, brakes, lights, tires <br /> electrical and other operating equipment of any motor vehicle sold by such <br /> dealer. <br /> 3. No vehicle license will be issued if taxes are delinquent on the records of <br /> the Hennepin County Auditor. <br /> 4. Sufficient parking space on the auto sales premises for all motor vehicles <br /> repaired or processed must be provided. <br /> 5. The license applications must be submitted with a detailed map, plat or <br /> drawing of the place of business showing the address, location, type and <br /> dimensions of any building, fence and lighting equipment thereon, the <br /> intended plan of all vehicle parking, the location and dimensions of <br /> processed car storage space; all curb openings; all driveways and <br /> alleyways therein and thereon, and a certificate by the City Engineer <br /> approving the drainage and paving on such place of business. <br /> 6. Appropriate payment must be made. <br /> • 7. The approval and filing of the bond set forth for Class A licenses. <br />
