12. Seasonal holiday decorations are permitted so long as they contain no <br /> advertising. they must be removed within ten (10) days following the <br /> holiday. <br /> 13. Signs denoting the location of a utility for purposes of warning or • <br /> maintenance and a sign denoting the location of a public phone. <br /> 14. Small signs used for protection of property such as "No Trespassing" or <br /> "Keep Off the Grass" providing such sign is no larger than one and one- <br /> half (1/) square feet. <br /> 15. Canopy signs are permitted so long as they contain the name or logo of <br /> the establishment only. <br /> 16. In addition to all other signs permitted under this Chapter, each lot which <br /> is being used for residential purposes may contain one Non-Commercial <br /> Opinion Sign for each street frontage. Such signs are permitted on private <br /> property only, may be placed only upon approval of the property owner, <br /> may not exceed six (6) square feet in area or four (4) feet in height, may <br /> not be located closer than seven (7) feet to the paved portion of a street, <br /> and must be at least five (5) feet from any other privately owned property. <br /> d. The following signs are subject only to Section 9-040 (e) and do require <br /> permits: <br /> • <br /> 1. Signs advertising a seasonal business, providing such sign is not attached Ilk <br /> to a building and that such sign is displayed for a period not to exceed <br /> thirty (30) days. One such sign may be displayed in addition to any <br /> existing signs on the property. A seasonal business sign may be displayed <br /> on an individual property no more often than once per year. <br /> e. The following safety standards shall be adhered to for all signage. <br /> 1. Signs which become unsafe shall be <br /> ordered repaired or removed by the Building Official. <br /> 2. All electric signs shall be designed and installed in accordance with the <br /> electrical code and shall obtain an electrical permit. <br /> 3. Clearance from high-voltage power lines.
