Mounds View City Council December 13, 2004 <br />Regular Meeting Page 7 <br /> <br />Council Member Stigney requested that the Park and Recreation Commission approve or deny 1 <br />the climbing wall item 2 <br /> 3 <br />Public Works Director Lee stated that the Park and Recreation Commission would be meeting on 4 <br />Thursday, and that they could look at that item at that time. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Cindy Palm from the Greenfield Park Committee thanked the Council for its work on this 7 <br />project, and she also thanked Bethlehem Baptist Church for their generous donation of $12,500. 8 <br />She also thanked the Twin City North Chamber of Commerce, Sunrise Christian Daycare, 9 <br />Western Bank, Minnesota Institute of Public Health, the American Legion Post 513, and 10 <br />Suburban Radiological for their donations. She thanked Officer Gross, who helped organize the 11 <br />donation buckets at National Night Out Block Parties. She also thanked Greg Lee, Steve 12 <br />Tuzinski, and Aaron Backman, who worked with Bethlehem Baptist to get their donation. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Ayes – 4 Nays –0 Motion carried. 15 <br /> 16 <br />F. Consider Bids for Carpet at the Mounds View Community Center. 17 <br /> 18 <br />City Clerk Ulrich stated that bids had been opened at 4:00 today, and only one bid had been 19 <br />received, which was from Abbey Carpet for $64,500 for carpet tile and $74,500 for a broadloom 20 <br />carpet. He stated they hadn’t had time to compare the bid to specs, and they would like to talk to 21 <br />the bidder about design options, so he was recommending that this be rescheduled for the 22 <br />January 10th meeting. 23 <br /> 24 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Linke/Stigney. To postpone this item to the January 10th City Council 25 <br />meeting. 26 <br /> 27 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Council Member Stigney asked if this was advertised for bid. 30 <br /> 31 <br />City Clerk Ulrich stated it had been advertised in the Bulletin, and it had been directly solicited 32 <br />to half a dozen carpet suppliers. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Council Member Stigney stated he felt uncomfortable with only one bid, and City Clerk Ulrich 35 <br />stated perhaps they needed to look at the specs and re-bid it. 36 <br /> 37 <br />G. Resolution 6405 Approval of the TimeSaver Recording Secretary Contract 38 <br />Addendum for 2005. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Council Member Stigney stated that they do a real good job, and he would like to see them 41 <br />continue. 42 <br /> 43 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Gunn. To waive the reading and approve Resolution 6405, 44 <br />Approving the TimeSaver Recording Secretary Contract Addendum for 2005. 45
