<br />Item No: 9G <br />Meeting Date: January 24, 2005 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />City Administrator Review: _____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Administrative Assistant to <br />Administration <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 6439 Granting the Pinewood Elementary <br />PTA a One Day Permit to a Raffle (Charitable <br />Gambling) at the Pinewood Elementary School on <br />March 6, 2005. <br /> <br />The Pinewood Elementary PTA would like to hold a Raffle event at the Pinewood <br />Elementary School on March 6, 2005. First Prize is 300.00; Second Prize is a Schwin Bike <br />and Third Prize is $100.00. Proceeds go towards the Pinewood Elementary PTA. The <br />State Gambling Board has indicated that it does not see a conflict in allowing a raffle at the <br />Pinewood Elementary School as long as the municipality is agreeable. <br /> <br />Attached is a LG 220 Application for Exempt Permit from the State of Minnesota for lawful <br />gambling, and exempt status from the Department of Revenue. <br /> <br />Council requested Staff to also look into Merrick, Inc., regarding their activities within the <br />Trade area. Merrick, Inc., will be making a presentation to City Council on Monday, February <br />14, 2005. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Approve attached Resolution 6439. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Desaree Crane <br />
