Item No:8 F <br />Meeting Date: April 11, 2005 <br />Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />City Administrator Review: _____ <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Chief of Police, Mike Sommer <br />Item Title/Subject: A Resolution Designating the National <br />Incident Management System (NIMS) <br />as the Basis for all Incident <br />Management in Mounds View <br />Date of Report: 4-11-05 <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Federal, State and County regulations require that all Cities adopt the National Incident <br />Management System for Emergency Management (NIMS). The City of Mounds View <br />currently utilizes the Minnesota Incident Management System (MIMS), which is nearly <br />identical to NIMS. The National Incident Management System provides for a consistent <br />nation wide approach for emergency management. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends the City Council adopt the National Incident Management System as <br />the standard for incident management in the City of Mounds View. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />Mike Sommer <br />Chief of Police <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
