Gunn/Flaherty To approve Resolution 6530 Approving Step/Longevity 6 <br />Increase for Officer Jeremy Hellpap (5/26/05). 7 <br /> 8 <br /> Ayes - 4 Nays-0 Motion carried. 9 <br /> 10 <br />H. First Reading of Ordinance 759, Amending Section 4.02 (Filing for Office) of 11 <br />the Mounds View City Charter. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Director Ericson stated that on March 10, 2005 City Council adopted a resolution, which puts the 14 <br />suggested amendment into the Charter. He explained that the intent of the resolution is to clarify 15 <br />the language and filing fees. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Mayor Marty asked for clarification of the ordinance amendment. 18 <br /> 19 <br />City Attorney Riggs explained that it is a process that allows the gathering of signatures to be 20 <br />placed on a ballot or could be used for hardships and it could be done at no cost or fee. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Mayor Marty explained that the Council couldn’t take action on this issue tonight, as it has to be 23 <br />a unanimous vote. 24 <br /> 25 <br />City Attorney Riggs confirmed that final adoption would have to be a unanimous vote. 26 <br /> 27 <br />MOTION/SECOND. Stigney/Gunn To postpone the introduction and reading of Ordinance 759, 28 <br />Amending Section 4.02 (Filing for Office) of the Mounds View City Charter and establishing a 29 <br />filing fee to the next City Council Agenda. 30 <br /> 31 <br /> Ayes - 4 Nays-0 Motion carried. 32 <br /> 33 <br /> I. Resolution 6526 Approving the Purchase of Two Replacement Video Decks 34 <br />for the Cable Department. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Ken stated that this is based on an item discussed at the last City Council work session. He 37 <br />explained that they currently have two video decks that are no longer working and they have been 38 <br />replacing the current video decks with digital video decks due to the quality and durability. He 39 <br />stated that the prices have also gone down noting that it does make sense to replace the decks on 40 <br />an as needed basis. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Council Member Flaherty confirmed that this would serve their needs for the next five years 43 <br />noting that the last set of equipment lasted for eleven years. 44 <br /> 45
