RESOLUTION NO. 6558 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVE THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, WAIVE THE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT HEARING, ORDER THE PROJECT, SET A BID DATE, AND AUTHORIZE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE GROVELAND PARK BUILDING REPLACEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, on October 25, 2004 the City Council approved Resolution No. 6383 approving and authorizing the execution of a Letter Agreement with TKDA for the Groveland Park Building Replacement Project which authorized the creation of plans and specifications; and WHEREAS, plans and specifications that meet standards from previous park building projects have been prepared; and WHEREAS, the City has currently expended a total of $19,600 for the plans and specifications for this project and the remaining estimated cost of construction, including all related costs, is $227,000 – for a total estimated project cost of $246,600; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commissioners recommend that up to sixty-five percent (65%) of the total project cost should be financed utilizing Park Dedication Funds, with the remaining amount is to be derived from other sources; and WHEREAS, the 2005 budget (Account No. 285-4470-3030) has $180,000 under Park Dedication Fund for the construction of the Groveland Park Building, and the Special Project Account of the 2005 budget (Account No. 280-4180- 7050) has a total of $152,000 in budgeted expenditures that is not anticipated to occur in 2005; and WHEREAS, as per state statute, with an estimated contract amount in excess of $100,000, publication must be made at least three weeks before the last day to submit bids; and WHEREAS, a July 14, 2005, 10:00 a.m. bid date will provide ample time to provide the required notification to contractors as per state statute.
