<br />RESOLUTION NO. 6489 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS TO REPAIR ROOF TOP UNIT NO. 7 <br />AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has experienced multiple failures of "Roof Top Unit <br />No. 7" at the Mounds View Community Center; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, UHL Company has determined that a shutter actuating drive <br />motor failed and did not allow proper airflow across the heat exchanger causing a <br />portion of the exchanger to crack; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has received a quote from UHL Company to perform <br />the necessary repairs in an amount not to exceed $8,150.00; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has been utilizing the services of UHL Company for <br />all heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) needs at the Community <br />Center over the last three and a half (3 ½) years and UHL Company was the <br />selected by the City in 2001 to address the HVAC issues that were identified in a <br />study performed by the firm of TKDA; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is recommended that the funds for the aforementioned <br />repairs are to be derived from the Community Center Fund account (252-4350- <br />5130) and that the 2005 Budget be adjusted to reflect this expenditure; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Charter, Section 7.08, gives the City Council <br />authority to amend the budget by resolution. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> <br />1. A quote from UHL Company of Maple Grove, Minnesota was received <br />and not to exceed, in the amount of $8,150.00 plus tax for parts and <br />labor to repair roof top unit No. 7 at the Community Center is hereby <br />awarded. <br /> <br />2. Funds for the aforementioned repairs are to be derived from the <br />Community Center Fund account (252-4350-5130) and that the 2005 <br />Budget be adjusted to reflect this expenditure. <br /> <br />3. The City Council authorizes UHL Company to repair roof top unit No. <br />7. <br />
