In accordance with Section 4.35D, Separation Compensation of the City’s <br />Personnel Manual indicates that an employee will be compensated for accrued vacation <br />time. <br /> <br />Kristin Prososki does not qualify for Sick Leave Severance. According to Section 4.35D <br />of the City’s Personnel Manual an employee who leaves in good standing will receive a <br />sick leave severance of fifty (50%) of unused sick leave. In order for an employee to <br />receive this Sick Leave Severance, the employee must complete 10 years of employment <br />with the City per the AFSCME contract. Ms. Prososki hire date was October 21, 2003, <br />and therefore, would not qualify for a Sick Leave Severance. <br /> <br />Resolution 6569 provides a cash payout of Ms. Prososki’s vacation time of $1,037.58. <br />This is calculated as 52.14 accrued vacation hours times her hourly rate of $19.90. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends severance payment for Kristin Prososki in accordance with Section <br />4.35D of the City’s Personnel Manual and AFSCME Labor Contract. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Desaree Crane <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
