RESOLUTION NO. 6574 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING SEVERANCE FOR MARLA MANYPENNY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Marla Manypenny has resigned from her position with the Surface Water <br />Division with the City of Mounds View effective June 24, 2005; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article 26.1 of the Public Works Labor Contract states that severance pay <br />shall be granted in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the maximum accrual of one hundred <br />and twenty (120) days (960 hours) of unused sick leave to employees who have completed two <br />years of service; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article 26.5 of the Public Works Labor Contract stated that an employee will <br />be compensated for accrued vacation and compensatory time upon separation on a one-hour to <br />one-hour rate; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the balance of accrued and unused sick leave time is 6.75 hours effective <br />June 24, 2005; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the balance of accrued and unused vacation time is 16.6 hours as of June <br />24, 2005; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the balance of accrued and unused compensation time is 2.5 hours as of <br />June 24, 2004; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Marla Manypenny’s current annual salary is $42,057.60 which translates to <br />a rate of pay of $20.22 per hour; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the maximum potential payout of vacation time will be 16.6 hours x $20.22 <br />= $335.65, the maximum potential payout of compensation time will be 2.25 x $20.22 = $45.49, <br />and the maximum potential payout of sick leave time will be 6.75 hours x 50% x $20.22 = <br />$68.35 for a total of $449.49. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council approve a <br />one-time payout of accrued and unused vacation time and compensation time in an amount not <br />to exceed $381.14 and 50% of accrued and unused sick leave in an amount not to exceed <br />$68.14 as of June 24, 2005 to Marla Manypenny. <br /> <br />Adopted this 11th day of July, 2005. <br /> <br /> <br /> ________________________________ <br /> Rob Marty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> ________________________________ <br /> Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator <br />(seal)
