Mounds View City Council June 27, 2005
Regular Meeting Page 2

David Jahnke, 8428 Eastwood Road referenced the Medtronic proposal stating that he would like 1
to thank the Council for looking everything over so well and for seeing the potential benefits this 2
proposal could bring to the City of Mounds View. He stated that he knows that once the cement 3
is in the ground and bad weather comes around, the city would still be supported. He thanked the 4
Council for all of their hard work and dedication to the City. 5
6
Mike Reed, 2208 Lois Drive, noted that the survey indicated that both the golf course and the 7
community center are not doing well. He asked if the community center is self-sufficient and if 8
not, would the Council be reviewing the feasibility of the community center in the near future. 9
He stated that he enjoys utilizing all of the city’s resources but, if these resources are not making 10
money for the city and if they are costing too much to maintain, then he guesses the city should 11
consider getting rid of them too. He asked the Council how they would determine where it 12
would stop with respect to eliminating city services that are not self-sustaining. 13
14
Council Member Thomas confirmed that Community Center has been included in their 15
discussions. She explained that it is all part of an effort to determine where the city is at in terms 16
costs and revenue. 17
18
6.
