Item 9e – Set a Public Hearing for July 11, 2005, 7:05 p.m. for the Second Reading and 11 <br />Adoption of Authorizing the Sale of Land Comprising the Bridges of Mounds View Golf 12 <br />Course to the Mounds View Economic Development Authority. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Mayor Marty noted that they discussed this earlier noting that he is questioning whether they 15 <br />have to or need to do this. 16 <br /> 17 <br />MOTION/SECOND Thomas/Gunn To Authorize Staff to set a Public Hearing for July 11, 18 <br />2005, 7:05 p.m. for the Second Reading and Adoption of Authorizing the Sale of Land 19 <br />Comprising The Bridges of Mounds View Golf Course to the Mounds View Economic 20 <br />Development Authority. 21 <br /> 22 <br /> Ayes-4 Nays-1 (Marty) Motion carried. 23 <br /> 24 <br />3. Item 9f – Set a Public Hearing for August 22, 2005 for the Proposed Establishment of 25 <br /> Tax Increment Financing District No. 5 (A special Legislation Economic Development 26 <br /> District). 27 <br /> 28 <br />Council Member Thomas asked why this needs a resolution. 29 <br /> 30 <br />City Attorney Riggs stated it doesn’t need to be a resolution and explained that they were 31 <br />renumbered by accident in the packet. He explained that some cities use resolutions to call a 32 <br />hearing and some don’t adding that it is up the each city. He further explained that it helps to 33 <br />build a record noting that the motions and resolutions, in essence are the same thing and that is 34 <br />how courts in Minnesota interpret them. 35 <br /> 36 <br />MOTION/SECOND Thomas/Stigney To Approve Resolution 6575, To Authorize Staff to set 37 <br />a Public Hearing for August 22, 2005 for the Proposed Establishment of Tax Increment 38 <br />Financing District No. 5 (A special Legislation Economic Development District) and waive the 39 <br />reading. 40 <br /> 41 <br /> Ayes-4 Nays-1 (Marty) Motion carried. 42 <br /> 43
