The 12-screen theater is adjacent to a single family neighborhood on a site which aliowed ihe theater as a pemutted use. There was no coniroversy regarding this application. 'The 16- screen theater was located across a collector street from residential neighborhoods, � and was orr a site which required approvat of a conditionai use permit. There was some coe�#roversy surrounding this application, but once residents l�arned what other uses could go there, the controversy died down. The developer has offered to do screening in �he yards of the residemts across the street. They also plan to use remote cameras in the parking lot and good lighting. Staff asked Captain Wells if the Police Department had any particular concems with the proposals, and he said no. They expect ihat there will be some theft from autos. (The 12-screen theater proposal by Mann Theaters for a site afc Round Lake and H�ghway 10 has been withdrawn.) The theater is approximately 400 yards from any residential neighborhood. Typical incidents are thefts from autos and iimes when ciuldren are too loud in the lobby. Sergeant Ring's observation is that any iime you hav� theafers, you will �ave children cangregating, and when you have children, you get civldren's nonsense. They have had no serious incidents at the theater. Staff asked about management of the theater. He sa.id th�t the on-sit� managers tend to come and go.
