INDUSTRIAL GOALS AND POLICIES • <br /> Goal 1: Industrial development shall be considered in order to provide a broad tax <br /> and an expanded employment base within Mounds View. <br /> Policies: a . Continue to maintain and expand the City's industrial and commercial <br /> tax base. <br /> b . Cooperate with industrial developers to insure that industrial develop- <br /> ment is a community asset and meets the standards established by the <br /> City. <br /> c . Investigate alternative fiscal incentives to attract new desired types <br /> of industries to Mounds View. <br /> d . Identify industrial activities complementary to existing activities and <br /> promote and facilitate the development of such industries in Mounds <br /> View. <br /> Goal 2: Ensure that industrial development is compatible with adjacent land uses and <br /> is accommodated without destroying desirable environment features and natural ameniti <br /> Policies: a. Industrial development must adequately provide for excess storm <br /> water. <br /> b. Introduce buffering to better protect adjacent residential neighborhoods. <br /> c. Performance standards and uses by type of industrial proposal will be <br /> utilized to judge these proposals. <br /> d. Give due consideration to all potential physical implications and services <br /> and facility demands (i .e., traffic generation, sewer and water demands, <br /> etc.) of any proposed industrial development. <br /> e. Industrial uses shall be consolidated in compact and functional districts. <br /> Where feasible, develop industrial parks. <br /> f. Industrial uses shall be located within easy access of major streets or <br /> arterials in order that industrial oriented traffic penetrate local streets <br /> as lime as possioie. <br /> • <br /> g.
