Continuation of Survey Activity <br /> New Businesses - All new businesses will be surveyed and added to the data base <br /> 10 <br /> information file. There are some 650 new businesses that have been identified since the <br /> inception of the"Community Partners"project. The breakdown of location is attached <br /> for reference. <br /> Resurvey Existing Businesses - <br /> 1. 15%of previously surveyed businesses will be resurveyed in order to provide more <br /> in depth information in support of key initiatives, and <br /> 2. Up to `'A of all businesses will be contacted to maintain data base basic information <br /> accuracy, and <br /> 3. A cross section of move out businesses will be contacted to determine "why"they' <br /> moved. All such information will be complied and submitted to city staff for <br /> review and future use. <br /> Summer Youth Employment Survey - Each business that indicated a willingness to <br /> participate in providing summer youth employment will be re-contacted in early 1996. <br /> All employment leads will be forwarded to appropriate youth employment agencies for <br /> follow-up and coordination of job opportunities. <br /> B. Training and Employment <br /> Significant information was developed in the initial survey process which clearly <br /> indicates that a shortage of skilled workers is developing in the region.
