Planning Commission
if471-97: O'Neil Property
March 8, 1997
Page 19
Public Works Department yet on where the best connection points would be for service to
this site, but hope to have this information for your meeting on March 19.
The Local Water Management Plan shows the construction of a storm water main through
the O'Neil site to capture drainage coming from north of Highway 10 which now flows
through an undersized system in the residential neighborhood south of the O'Neil
property. The storm water main is not needed for the O'Neil project, but there has been
some discussion about coordinating its installation with this project.
The project will not be taking access from any County or local streets, and therefore no
upgrading of these streets is expected to be required. Staff expects MnDOT to require
accel and decel lanes on Highway 10 at the access point to the site.
11. Walkways: Staff would recommend that walkways be built by the developer from the
Long Lake Rd/Hwy 10 intersection, and from the County Rd H2/Hwy 10 intersection to
this site if agreements can be reached with Donatelle's, to people can go to the theater or
to work on foot, if they so desire. There has also been discussion with the applicant
regarding a walkway system around the wetland which would link to Silver Lake Park.
12.
