1998 Annual Planning Commission Report <br /> Introduction <br /> The City Code in Section 401.08 states: "The City Council may request an annual report from <br /> the Planning and Zoning Commission of its works during the proceeding year."The City <br /> Council has requested a written report from the Planning Commission. The following is a <br /> summary of the activities of the Planning Commission in 1998. <br /> 1998 Activities <br /> Planning Cases: <br /> The Planning Commission considered and acted on the following planning cases in 1998: <br /> Comp Plan Amendment: 1 <br /> Rezoning: 1 <br /> Code Appeal: 1 <br /> Conditional Use Permit: 10 <br /> Variance: 8 <br /> Development Review: 8 • <br /> Minor Subdivision: 3 <br /> Major Subdivision: 1 <br /> PUD Amendment: 1 <br /> Easement Vacation: 1 <br /> Included in these cases were reviews of major projects including the Anthony <br /> Properties/O'Neil PUD, TOLD/Walgreens project, and the Silverview Estates PUD. <br /> Comprehensive Plan: <br /> The Planning Commission put forth much time and energy toward the complete review <br /> and update of the Mounds View Comprehensive Plan, last officially-updated in 1979. In <br /> conjunction with this redrafting, the Planning Commission staged three community <br /> forums held in February, March and April, designed to help Mounds View residents <br /> understand what the Comprehensive Plan is, and most importantly,to gather input from <br /> the residents as to their views regarding the future of Mounds View.Notices of invitation <br /> were mailed to each property owner and information was posted on the website for <br /> general reference. A summary of the results of the forums was completed and sent to all <br /> the participants at the forums. <br /> Subsequent to the community forums the Planning Commission thoroughly discussed • <br /> and completed review of the initial drafts of the community background, land use, <br />
