Item No. 08P <br />Type of Business: CB <br />Meeting Date: August 22, 2005 <br />City Administrator Review: _____ City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Administrative Assistant to <br />Administration <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution No. 6610 Authorization to Advertise for <br />the Cable Technician Position <br /> <br />Background: <br />On August 1, 2005 Ken Gammell, Mounds View Cable Technician submitted his <br />letter of resignation. Mr. Gammell has resigned as of August 15, 2005. Mr. <br />Gammell has been with the City of Mounds View since August 5, 2002. The Cable <br />Technician Position is a part-time position. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />With the resignation of Ken Gammell, the City will be without a Cable Technician. <br />Staff would like to start advertising for this position in the Mounds View/New <br />Brighton Bulletin and the City’s website. Staff will also be advertising this position in <br />the League of Minnesota Cities website as well. Staff is projecting a closing date <br />for this position to be on September 23, 2005. Staff along with members of the <br />Cable Committee will be going through the applications and interviews. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached resolution granting <br />authorization to advertise for the Cable Technician position. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Desaree M.
