Mounds View Planning Commission August 18, 1999 <br /> Regular Meeting Page 7 <br /> • Ericson stated the tax generation capabilities of this project, as opposed to a typical B-2 district use, <br /> had been discussed at a previous meeting of the Planning Commission. He stated it was determined, <br /> through discussion with the Ramsey County Assessor's office that a commercial use would be taxed <br /> at a rate of 2.8 percent up to $150,000 of its valuation, and after $150,000it would be taxed at 3.8 <br /> percent. He stated the County considers the proposed use to be a commercial use, however, because <br /> it caters to the needs of the elderly, and elderly housing, the tax rate would be 2.8 percent for the first <br /> $150,000 valuation, and would retain the 2.8 tax rate after that point. ..
