Meeting Date: September 26, 2005 The Administrative Assistant to the Administration, Desaree Crane, assumed many of the duties of the Assistant City Administrator with the vacancy of that position at the end of 2002. Resolution 5977 was passed by the City Council, which provided additional compensation to the Administrative Assistant position at a rate of ten percent (10%). Labor Relations has performed an assessment of the Assistant to the City Administrator position. There is no Stanton Job Classification directly matching the duties and requirements of the Mounds View Assistant to the City Administrator. Consequently, the Assistant to the City Administrator job description was sent to Labor Relations for an assessment. The results of the assessment indicate that the position is scaled at a recommended 385 HAY Points, with a maximum (Step 5) of $56,000 for 2005. Desaree Crane is currently compensated at $22.63/hr ($47,070.40), which includes the 10% compensation. This is a difference of $8929.60 a year or about 19 percent (19%) below the recommended level. Reclassifying this position has been budgeted for 2006 and the budget for 2005 would need to be reallocated to cover the position in the amount of $5,106.40.
