RESOLUTION 6625 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 800 MHZ PORTABLE RADIOS FOR <br />THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department has placed an order through Ramsey <br />County for the purchase of 800MHz radios which will be necessary when the new public <br />safety radio system is completed, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department has budgeted funds for this purchase in the 2005 budget, <br />and has also been awarded a grant from the Minnesota safety office of Justice programs <br />which has been designated specifically for the purchase of 800MHz portable radios, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to utilize the grant, the funds for the portable radios must be expended <br />before September 30, 2005, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the total cost for the 800MHz portable radio order for the Mounds View Police <br />Department radios it is $67,519.60. Of this total, Ramsey County, through federal grants is <br />covering $51,870. This leaves the total costs to the city of Mounds View for the 800MHz <br />portable radio order at $15,649.60. This cost will be covered by a combination of $12,500 <br />from the received grant and $3,149.60 from the Police Department budget. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of Mounds View <br />approves an expenditure of $15,649.60 to Ramsey County for the purchase of the 800MHz <br />portable radios required for the Police Department.
