Mounds View City Council September 12, 2005 <br />Regular Meeting Page 21 <br /> <br />Councilmember Thomas noted that if other items are included in the auction, it needs to be 1 <br />advertised to assure interested buyers are in attendance. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Councilmember Stigney stated he thought there was an opportunity during the Festival in the 4 <br />Park to buy electronic equipment. Councilmember Gunn stated that happened last year. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Administrative Assistant Crane informed the Council about how difficult it was to get buyers to 7 <br />the last sale of old chairs and equipment. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Councilmember Flaherty stated the auctioneer is a professional at handling the advertising and 10 <br />marketing. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Councilmember Stigney asked what will happen if it is raining. City Administrator Ulrich stated 13 <br />there is access to buildings at the golf course in the event of rain. 14 <br /> 15 <br /> Ayes-5 Nays-0 Motion carried. 16 <br /> 17 <br />7. JUST AND CORRECT CLAIMS 18 <br /> 19 <br />Mayor Marty questioned the claim for both a Nextel and a Verizon telephone. City 20 <br />Administrator Ulrich explained that the Verizon cellular telephone is for the school resource 21 <br />officer. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Mayor Marty referenced Page 13, showing the change over costs for one 2005 Ford Crown Vic is 24 <br />$4,835.05 but the other cost $6,068.80 and advised that the Police Chief will look into the 25 <br />difference. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Mayor Marty stated he talked to the golf course about the refunds and it was explained it 28 <br />involved the Women’s League that had four rainouts. Because of the sale, the dates cannot be 29 <br />made up. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Mayor Marty questioned the claim in the amount of $822.44 on the bottom of Page 19, to Don 32 <br />Salverda & Associates for a management program for Mr. Beers. This is a 12-month course that 33 <br />meets every other month with other City finance officials to develop networking and 34 <br />management skills. City Administrator Ulrich stated he, Director Ericson, and other members of 35 <br />Staff have attended the same program. He advised that this is the total amount, except for books, 36 <br />and fits within the training budget. 37 <br /> 38 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Thomas. To approve the Just and Correct Claims as Presented. 39 <br /> 40 <br /> Ayes-5 Nays-0 Motion carried. 41 <br /> 42 <br />9.
