Director 6 <br />Ericson recommended the public hearing remain open to ensure people who have received notice 7 <br />can provide input at the November 28, 2005 meeting as well. 8 <br /> 9 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Thomas. To continue the public hearing, waive the First Reading, 10 <br />and Introduction of Ordinance 766, an Ordinance Vacating an Excess Drainage and Utility 11 <br />Easement Associated with the Belting Office Development. 12 <br /> 13 <br /> Ayes-5 Nays-0 Motion carried. 14 <br /> 15 <br />B. 7:10 p.m. Public Hearing to Consider Resolution 6657 Adopting a Special 16 <br />Assessment Levy for Delinquent Public Utility Accounts 17 <br /> 18 <br />Mayor Marty opened the public hearing at 8:03 p.m. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Finance Director Beer explained the public hearing is to receive public input regarding the 21 <br />proposed assessment of delinquent public utility accounts. A legal notice of this public hearing 22 <br />was published in the October 26, 2005 edition of the New Brighton-Mounds View Bulletin. 23 <br />Individual notices went out on October 19, 2005. He noted the full roll of the assessments has 24 <br />been provided in the Council information but some property owners have already paid to avoid 25 <br />the $25 administrative fee. After tonight the $25 administrative fee will apply and the assessment 26 <br />interest will be 5%. 27 <br /> 28 <br />There being no public input, Mayor Marty closed the public hearing at 8:04 p.m. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Mayor Marty pointed out that the list of delinquencies is not as long or amounts as large as in 31 <br />previous years. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Councilmember Gunn asked if the market and laundry has paid. Finance Director Beer stated 34 <br />they have made arrangements to make payment. 35 <br /> 36 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Stigney.
