Item No: 08C <br />Meeting Date: January 26, 2004 <br /> Type of Business: CA <br />City Administrator Review: ______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Administrative Assistant <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 6174 Appointment of Police Civil Service <br />Commissioners <br /> <br />The Police Civil Service Commission is comprised of three (3) Commission seats each <br />serving a three-year term. All three seats are currently vacant. Staff advertised for these <br />positions in the New Brighton/Mounds View Bulletin in December of 2002 and again in <br />October of 2003. <br /> <br />The City’s Municipal Code states that based on the recommendation of the Commissions <br />“the Mayor, with the approval of the City Council, shall appoint a Chairperson for each <br />respective Commission.” If the Mayor does not pick from the applicants, then the <br />application stays on file for 12 months. All applications that are 12 months or older are <br />destroyed. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />The Mayor has reviewed all applications.
