Mounds View City Council January 12, 2004
Regular Meeting Page 2

1
MS. Hammond asked whose responsibility it is to keep the back gate free of snow. 2
3
Mayor Linke directed Staff to look into snow removal at the back gate to determine whether it is 4
the responsibility of the park or the City. 5
6
Ms. Hammond expressed concern that the back gate that is supposed to be the secondary 7
emergency access is locked and has no snow removal. 8
9
David Jahnke of 8428 Eastwood Road asked how residents can keep track of the loans given to 10
the golf course. 11
12
Finance Director Hansen indicated the loans are listed in the City’s annual financial reports and 13
the funds come partly from the water fund and partly from the vehicle and special projects fund. 14
He further commented that there is no secret to the loans and last year the total was just over 15
$1,000,000 and he anticipates the results to be similar this year as to 2002, which means there 16
would need to be an additional loan to the golf course. 17
18
Mr. Jahnke thanked Staff for the information and said he wanted to know where to find the 19
information. He then said that he is concerned that the course cannot even break even with the 20
billboards and asked Council to look into it. 21
22
Eric ____ of 3038 Ardmore Avenue indicated that the curve from Program Avenue to H2 where 23
the speed limit is 20 m.p.h. is an issue because there have been numerous times where people hit 24
the wall. He then asked if they could get a guardrail and said that right now there is plywood 25
patching the hole from the last time a vehicle hit it. He also indicated he is concerned with 26
35Wsouthbound because of the potential issue with vehicles hitting the sound wall. 27
28
Mayor Linke indicated that MNDOT may not agree to a guardrail but said the City would look 29
into whether anything could be done. 30
31
6.
