Mounds View City Council January 26, 2004 <br />Regular Meeting Page 6 <br /> <br />Mayor Li nke suggested moving one of the older ones out to the golf course. 1 <br /> 2 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6173, a 3 <br />Resolution Authorizing the Replacement of the Police Department’s Automatic External 4 <br />Defibrillators Utilizing Grant Funds, Grant Matching Funds and Forfeiture Funds. 5 <br /> 6 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 7 <br /> 8 <br />I. Resolution 6168, a Resolution Approving an Area Identification Sign for 9 <br />Scotland Green Apartments. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Council Member Marty commented that Scotland Green has been paying taxes at the 12 <br />condominium rate and not the rate of an apartment. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Planner Prososki indicated she has not spoken with other Staff but she spoke to Ramsey County 15 <br />and was told that they are paying the same amount regardless of the designation because the 16 <br />difference comes into play with homestead or non-homestead. She then agreed to look into it 17 <br />further. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Council Member Marty commented that signage is over City requirements. 20 <br /> 21 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty. To Postpone. 22 <br /> 23 <br />The Motion failed for lack of a second. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Mayor Linke agreed that something needs to be done but he does not feel it is right to hold this 26 <br />up. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Council Member Marty commented that the sign could not be installed until the ground thaws. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Council Member Gunn indicated the Resolution does not state which type of sign. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Planner Prososki indicated that the applicant said that the sign could be determined by Council 33 <br />but they prefer Option B, the four-sided sign. 34 <br /> 35 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Marty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6168, a 36 <br />Resolution Approving an Area Identification Sign for Scotland Green Apartments. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Council Member Marty indicated he had no issue with the sign but he would like to have the 39 <br />condominium and apartment tax rate straightened out. 40 <br /> 41 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 42 <br /> 43
