Mounds View City Council February 9, 2004
Regular Meeting Page 2

City Administrator Ulrich indicated the City does have some surplus equipment building up and 1
Staff intends to look into selling it at auction. He then indicated Staff would make the list 2
available to residents for review. 3
4
Mayor Linke asked Staff to make sure that the hard drives are removed from the computers. 5
6
City Administrator Ulrich indicated it was his understanding that there is now a way to erase hard 7
drives the same way the federal government does. He then said Staff would report back on the 8
equipment available and how to dispose of it. 9
10
Mr. Werner asked if residents could have the first opportunity to purchase the property. 11
12
Council Member Stigney commented that he thinks the residents of Mounds View should get 13
first crack at auction since they bought the equipment in the first place. 14
15
Council Member Stigney commented that the furniture was budgeted but he did not see anyone 16
come to him to discuss the purchase. He further commented that it seems to be the normal 17
course that if something is budgeted for the money is spent regardless of whether the item is 18
really needed. 19
20
Mr. Werner expressed concern that there were comments made that the recently replaced 21
camcorder was not worth replacing the missing cable and suddenly it is good enough for the 22
police department. 23
24
6.
