RESOLUTION NO. 6214 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE HIRING OF A PSO FOR THE POLICE DEPARMENT TO <br />REPLACE OUTGOING PSO <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the current PSO for the Police Department has submitted notice of <br />resignation effective March 26th, 2004; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the current PSO is authorized to work no more than 39 hours per pay <br />period; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the eligibility list which was established according to Civil Service rules <br />when the current PSO was hired is still valid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department is seeking authorization to activate the eligibility list <br />for the purpose of determining whether three qualified finalists are still available for hire; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, if unsuccessful in identifying three finalists from the current eligibility list, <br />the hiring process will be redone. Once completed, the Police Civil Service Commission will <br />submit a list of three finalists to the City Council for appointment of one candidate to the <br />position; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the selected candidate will be offered a position starting at Step 1 for that <br />position as provided for in the AFSCME Labor Contract. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota that the Police Civil Service Commission and the Police <br />Department are authorized to take the necessary steps to fill the soon to be vacant PSO <br />position, according to the conditions and provisions listed above. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted this 22nd day of March 2004. <br /> <br /> <br /> ____________________________________ <br /> Jerry Linke, Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: ____________________________________ <br /> Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />(seal) <br />
