The retreat was held at the Mounds View Community Center and <br />facilitated by Don Salverda, an outside consultant. <br /> <br />Over the two evenings of the retreat, the Council and Department Heads discussed the <br />past, present and future, and responded with a plan to address the challenges facing <br />the City of Mounds View. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />The group developed a shared vision for success, by agreeing on a formal revised <br />vision and mission statement. The proposed vision statement reads: <br /> <br />We see Mounds View as a proactive community that takes pride in its <br />achievements. We are responsive to the changing needs and interests of <br />our residents and businesses. As a result, our community thrives and <br />prospers. <br /> <br />The proposed mission statement reads: <br /> <br />Provide high quality public services that effectively address changing <br />citizen and community needs in a fiscally responsible and customer- <br />friendly manner. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />As part of the retreat follow-up the facilitator recommended that the Council formally <br />adopt the City Vision and Mission Statement.
