Mounds View City Council May 10, 2004 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Linke/Marty. To Approve Resolution 6251, a Proclamation for National 1 <br />Police Week. 2 <br /> 3 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 4 <br /> 5 <br /> B. Introduction of the New Mounds View Police Officers 6 <br /> 7 <br />Chief Sommer introduced the new police officers to the City of Mounds View and gave a brief 8 <br />history of all three. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Mayor Linke welcomed the new officers to the City. 11 <br /> 12 <br />C. Resolution 6236, a Resolution of Appreciation for Boy Scout Pack 367 for 13 <br />their hard work and dedication in making the City of Mounds View a 14 <br />Cleaner Place. 15 <br /> 16 <br />City Administrator Ulrich read Resolution 6236. 17 <br /> 18 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Stigney. To Approve Resolution 6236, a Resolution of 19 <br />Appreciation for Boy Scout Pack 367 for Hard Work and Dedication in Making the City of 20 <br />Mounds View a Cleaner Place. 21 <br /> 22 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 23 <br /> 24 <br /> D. Tony Bennett (District 1) and Jan Wiessner (District 2) Ramsey County 25 <br />Commissioners 26 <br /> 27 <br />Commissioner Bennett addressed Council and indicated that there appears to be support for a 28 <br />suburban court at 694 and Rice Street. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Council Member Marty asked whether the City could get help from the County with a stoplight 31 <br />at Silver Lake Road and County Road H and a semaphore at Sunnyside School. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Commissioner Bennett indicated he would provide any assistance that he could but 34 <br />recommended that the City contact Dan Solar. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Council Member Quick asked for an update on the arsenal property. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Commissioner Bennett explained how the property is planned to be utilized. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Commissioner Wiessner provided informational packets to Council and residents in attendance 41 <br />and briefly reviewed the information in them. She then emphasized that the biggest issue facing 42 <br />the County is budget restrictions. 43 <br /> 44
