RESOLUTION NO. 6326 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING THE CONTRACT AWARD FOR THE 2004 to 2007 SANITARY <br />SEWER ROOT ABATEMENT PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City annually budgets and received bids for root removal <br />in the City‘s sanitary sewer system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, for the last four years the City has contracted annually with <br />Duke’s Root Control, Incorporated; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, to take advantage of Duke’s current low bid prices and to <br />save administrative costs, Staff sought bids for the next four years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department solicited bids from several <br />companies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a total of three (3) bids have been received; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the low bidder was Duke’s Root Control, Incorporated in the <br />estimated amount of $42,200.00 (per foot prices of: $1.01 for 2004, $1.04 for <br />2005, $1.07 for 2006, and $1.10 for 2007); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Duke’s Root Control has been awarded the Sanitary Sewer <br />Root Abatement Project for the last four years and has met or exceeded the <br />City’s specifications; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 2004 adopted budget has $15,000.00 in funds allocated <br />for root removal in the City‘s sanitary sewer system (account 730-4823-5160). <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT the Mounds View City <br />Council does hereby approve a contract award to Duke’s Root Control, <br />Incorporated in the estimated amount of $42,200 for the 2004 to 2007 Sanitary <br />Sewer Root Abatement Projects. <br /> <br />Adopted this 9th day of August 2004. <br /> <br /> <br />(ATTEST) ____________________________________ <br /> Jerry Linke, Mayor <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br />____________________________________ <br /> Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator
