Mounds View City Council September 13, 2004 <br />Regular Meeting Page 12 <br /> <br />Mayor Linke cited three cases were the city had been sued for injuries, and he stated that he 1 <br />would be against adding this coverage because he didn’t think it was worth it. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Council Member Stigney stated he agreed with the Mayor and felt it may cause their insurance 4 <br />costs to escalate because of claims. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Finance Director Hansen stated that the City is already covered if they are liable for the injury. 7 <br /> 8 <br />MOTION/SECOND. To approve the first version of Resolution 6344 9 <br />Authorizing Insurance Policies for the Year July 2004 through June 2005. 10 <br /> 11 <br /> Ayes-4 Nays-0 Motion carried. 12 <br /> 13 <br />R. Resolution 6350 Approving Change Order No. 1 for the Hidden Hollow Street and 14 <br />Utility Installation Project – Removal of the Mounds View Manufactured Home 15 <br />Community Second Access Project. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Mayor Linke stated it was his understanding they are removing this because of prevailing wage 18 <br />considerations. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Public Works Director Lee stated that that was correct, and that verbiage needed to be added to 21 <br />the documents in order for the City to be eligible for the Community Development Block Grant, 22 <br />and since that wasn’t included in there, Change Order No. 1 would separate the two projects, and = 23 <br />they would need to get a bid for the Mounds View Manufactured Home Park second access, 24 <br />which is Item 10S. 25 <br /> 26 <br />MOTION/SECOND. To approve Resolution 6350 Approving a Change Order 27 <br />No. 1 for the Hidden Hollow Street and Utility Installation Project – Removal of the 28 <br />Mounds View Manufactured Home Community Second Access Project. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Council Member Stigney asked if this was with Red Stone Construction, and Public Works 31 <br />Director Lee stated that it is. 32 <br /> 33 <br /> Ayes-4 Nays-0 Motion carried. 34 <br /> 35 <br />S. Resolution 6351 Awarding a Construction Contract for the Mounds View Manufactured 36 <br />Home Community Second Access Project. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Public Works Director Lee stated that four quotes had been received, and the low bid was from 39 <br />Hard Drives in the amount of $47,075.25. He stated that this is about $5,300 higher than what 40 <br />the original quote was, but that was as a result of prevailing wages. 41 <br /> 42 <br />MOTION/SECOND. Marty/Gunn. To approve Resolution 6351 Awarding a Construction 43 <br />Contract for the Mounds View Manufactured Home Community Second Access Project to 44 <br />Hard Drives for $47,075.25. 45
